TURNED FAMILY
There are people in our life whom we call ‘family’. They’re the ones related to us by blood. But along with them, we all have some people in our lives whom we meet under unexpected circumstances and then suddenly, we can’t imagine our lives without them in it. They have a special place in our heart and life, almost as if they are irreplaceable. They’re there for you whenever you need them. They’re like this little ray of sunshine, full of hope and goodness, that brighten you up and make you forget about all the bad things that exist within your mind and conscience. They don’t demand you to change yourself and love your flaws as much as they love the good qualities you have. They are your friends turned family. I have three people in my life who hold such an importance and without any of them in it, it just feels incomplete.
First, there’s this little girl, the only other female in our small circle. I’m so glad to have known her. She’s really great- inside as well as on the outside. She’s smart, beautiful and also an amazing pianist. She’s been learning to play the piano ever since she was a kid, all by herself, and now she has millions of people who love her and appreciate her for her talent. She and I went to the same school since kindergarten and I never knew who she was until college. Pretty unexpected, right? She’s one of the strongest people I’ve ever known. She’s not had an easy life but despite all her problems at home, she wakes up every day with that same smile and shine that she carries around with her.
Next there’s this guy. Again, an unexpected friendship. He used to live in the apartment in front of me for quite a few years and I never knew him back then. More so, he was friends with my best friend and they would play together almost every day and still, I didn’t know who he was, until now. “I’m not good at advice. Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?”- That’s the kind of guy he is. He has a really bad temper which gets him into trouble but his good qualities top all of that. He’s not afraid of speaking for what he believes in and that’s a quality very few people possess. He’s an amazing athlete as well. But most of all, he’s a loyal and trustworthy friend. He’s that kind of a person whom you can turn to when you want to talk about things just to get them off your chest. He may not be good at giving you a solution or an advice but he’s the best listener you can ever get. He’s been kinda like my personal punching bag too, for me to take off all my anger on, without him getting angry at me because he understands me better than anyone else.
Lastly, there’s this really tall guy. He’s like the most mature and smartest of us all. He has a sense of the world and knows how to deal with every kind of situation in the most amazing way possible. “Sadistic humor is my way of relating with the world”- That’s his motto in life. He plays the guitar and he plays it absolutely gorgeously and he sings too. He’s also an athlete and probably one of the smartest guys at college. Basically, he’s an all- rounder. He excels at anything he does and that’s one of his best qualities. His determination and focus for whatever he’s doing is exceptional. Besides all of that, he’s someone you can seek advice from on anything that concerns you and whatever solution he gives you, it always works. You can talk to him for hours and express all of your problems to him and like a magician; he gives you the perfect solution. He’s like this glue, in our group; holding everyone together when we fight over pesky matters and gets everyone back to normal within no time.
I’ve known these people for a very short amount of time but everyday that I spend without them, just feels like a day wasted. These people are my- Turned Family.
Love, Blue Host.
